New music from Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin

Today is awesome, I found out this morning that both the new Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin albums had come out. They're pretty good, I love working out with this stuff in my headphones. Check them out if you like heavy rock/metal.

Three Days Grace - Life Starts Now
One of the singles off the album, "break"
Their lead singer's voice is unreal, such a sick voice for just screaming over heavy music. Love it. I would love to see these guys live.

Breaking Benjamin - Dear Agony

and one of their new singles from Dear Agony, "I will not bow"

Woke up this morning to this, quite the surprise...

Wall Street looking better

Wall Street on Friday recorded its first full week of consecutive gains since November 2006 after strength in technology stocks added to this week’s rally.

"Positive economic data, the weak dollar and rising commodity prices pushed stocks higher this week. After Wednesday’s close, Alcoa set a positive tone for the third-quarter earnings season by posting a profit and, on Thursday, leading US retailers reported their first monthly sales gain since September 2008.

Bruce Shalett, founder of the Wynston Hill Capital boutique investment bank, said: “There’s reason to feel cautiously optimistic . The retail data that came out resonated very positively with investors who are hoping upon hope for reasons to believe that the recovery is sustainable.”

So this is good news to hear obviously, hopefully the recovery is indeed sustainable as they said. If this continues maybe the public will be more willing to invest and less inclined to withdraw all of their money from the market. In any event, good stuff. Oh and Apple's stock is still rising, which I suppose isn't that great of a surprise. I remember back a few months ago when it was at $88.00/share, and today it's listed at $190.47. Incredible. If only I had a few thousand dollars back then when it was low.

Anyway, have a nice weekend!

Transformers 3! confirmed

There WILL be a Transformers 3, which is amazing in my opinion. I'm pumped to hear that. It's slated to be released in 2011 so it will be awhile but still.

DMB - Crash Into Me live at Folsom Field, Boulder, CO

Well unless you've been living under a rock for quite some time, you've heard this song. This is a video of the live performance at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado at CU. It's a really good live version, and the song is just amazing, no matter how many times I've heard it. Absolutely an all time favorite song of mine. Enjoy~

AFI's new album "Crash Love" released today!!!!!!!!

FINALLY! Afi's new album, Crash Love, is out today!!! ...and it's absolutely awesome, as I knew it would be.

"Produced by Joe McGrath and Jacknife Lee with the band, "Crash Love" is AFI's most confident, enjoyable album yet. Though there remain echoes of the Cure, the Smiths and many other morose pop heroes from the 1980s, the result feels more organic now, rooted in the genuinely bleak and hopeless rather than the simply theatrical sounds of My Chemical Romance.

Within the collection's tightly crafted 43 minutes is music of gloom, force and energy. The band finds hope and something approaching joy in the rousing, anthemic "Beautiful Thieves," and Jade Puget's guitars sound bright enough for endless radio rotation on "Veronica Sawyer Smokes." Hard-core riffs lurk beneath the pleading vocals on "Sacrilege."

The music of AFI wasn't always as daring as its fashion sense, but the NoCal band has grown with accelerating sophistication, stepping further beyond easy pop-punk thrashings to something grander, with music to match the mopey melodrama of Havok's words."

friday.

Hey there interwebz world.

I don't think anybody even reads my stuff, sooooo I haven't posted in a few days.

I started reading for my last licensing exams to be an adviser...the life & health insurance licenses...super exciting. Anyway, it's beyond boring but it shouldn't take much more than a week and after that I will finally (after 5+ months) be a financial adviser and I'll be able to start making some money which will feel fantastic once that happens. After 18 years of school and 4 years of college, it will certainly be nice to see hard work turn into dollar signs. Being able to support myself someday, and having the money to do what I want to and to treat myself for working hard will feel .... I don't even know to be honest, but I certainly hope it will feel as good as I imagine it will.

Anyway, the evening here went.... predictably so. Yes, predictably so you could say. I shall leave it at that. So I'm going to put in a little more time with this material, and then probably relax and go to the gym nice and early. Thank god for the gym by the way, I think I would have lost my mind years ago had it not been for the ability to go and work out and blow off countless volumes of steam. Some people play sports, some people knit, some people draw, some people do drugs, some people go ride a bike, some sit around and eat, but I enjoy lifting weights.

That's enough rambling for now, have a lovely weekend mystery readers/followers.

Scuba dive in your lotus!

Fifth Gear - Rinspeed Squba

so what's new?

So this morning I passed my Series 66 - Investment Adviser licensing exam, and I'm pretty excited about that. It's super rainy out, and unseasonably cold, and the sky is grey and basically it's a perfect "lounge around the house" type day so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Hope everybody had a nice weekend, and cheers to a good week as well.

Hilarious.

tgif !

Ladies & gents, it's Friday finally. I hope you've all had a good week, and I hope you have an even better weekend!

Thursday, September 17, 2009

just checking in...

Hey everybody,

So I haven't been updating much this week because I'm pretty pressed for time. I have to study for my Series 66 licensing exam that I have on Monday so I've been spending most of the day, every day, working on that. The exam will license me as an investment adviser if you're curious.

Anyway, I apologize for the lack of activity. It's extremely frustrating not having as much free time as I'd like, and I'll just leave it at that. Have a great weekend.

Esthec Solar-Powered Superyacht

How awesome does this thing look? Granted it's an artist's rendering but still...wow.

Raising the bar further, Dennis Ingemansson has designed this 45m superyacht that shows the trend toward the eco-friendly yachts of the future.

Designed for the Dutch company Esthec, the superyacht generates solar energy to propel the yacht’s electric engine.

Kanye West acting like an idiot at the 2009 MTV VMA's

"Leave it to Kanye West to produce one of the most infamous moments in VMAs history before the 2009 show was even an hour old. It happened after Taylor Swift’s victory in the Best Female Video category for “You Belong With Me,” which beat out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” Just moments after Swift accepted the Moonman and began her acceptance speech, West stormed the stage, taking the microphone from Swift to announce Beyoncé deserved the award."

This is so ridiculous and rude. Learn some manners and keep your mouth shut. He just can't bear to let somebody else have the spot light.

This year's winners include: a tool to identify new disease strains, an artificial hand, a solar-powered base station for mobile phones and paper-thin flexible speakers

Boxing highlight videos

These are so cool to me, these guys are just incredible to watch.

Mike Tyson highlights. (the final countdown is such a goofy song to use for this, oh well)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. Highlights

Anderson Silva....just punishing people. Ridiculous.

And finally, George St-Pierre destroying people in the UFC

Cool faucets!

Nerdy or not, this is pretty cool in my opinion. Click the link for more pictures.

Beyond The Wall - interior design

This place is awesome. They have some seriously cool stuff, check them out, browse around, I'm sure you'll see something cool.

Mac user? Here's some helpful software for you

Free Apple software, or rather software that is made for Apple computers. I use quite a few of these on here.

Adium, Thunderbird, Transmission, Burn and Audacity are all good. (if you need them of course)

here you go:

More vids. good songs.

So on an almost daily basis I check out a bunch of sites for new music and the stuff I really like I put on here for everybody to see. Anyway, these 2 songs really have stuck out for one reason or another so check them out.

oh and on the very first page there's a download link for the Yung Berg & Rhianna song.

College Stadiums decide to serve beer during games...oh boy...

College stadiums serving beer up until halftime. Really? ...this has bad news and not worth the extra income written all over it. You be the judge...

New-ish music videos

Sean Paul - Press it up

Fat Joe, Pleasure P, Rico Love - Aloha

New Era makes regular hats?

Apparently so...New Era makes the flat brim 59/50 hats as you probably knew. But I guess that's not all.

Patron puts out a version of Vodka

Now as most people know, Patron is known for their top shelf tequila (i.e. Patron Silver). As of February (when this was published) they've created a top shelf vodka at $40 a bottle (more than grey goose and ketel one as the article says). Interesting. Here's the full story...

By the way, did you know Grey Goose is made by Bacardi? Now you do.

Bizarre speakers/headphones and a sick TV

from kanye's blog...pretty interesting stuff. The speakers are cool, headphones seem super weird, but that TV is awesome looking.

Seriously how awesome is this house...

Crazy Modern/futuristic style house in Brazil...

Lamborghini Revention Roadster & Mercedes SLS AMG

Check these guys out. The lambo looks awesome...and checks in at a whopping $1,750,000. Only 20 are being made. The Mercedes looks funky to me, but that's just my opinion.

Cheap stuff, big time deals and steals

A few websites here....the way they work is they post up an item for about 20 minutes and there's a limited number of whatever it is as an EXTREMELY DISCOUNTED PRICE, and basically they sell it till it's gone and then post a new item. These are worth bookmarking, sometimes you can get a seriously amazing deal.

http://www.whiskeymilitia.com - skate & surf stuff
http://www.brociety.com - snowboarding equipment
http://www.steepandcheap.com - skiing and backpacking/climbing gear
http://www.chainlove.com - mountain biking/cycling gear

Check them out, definitely worth a look at the least.

love this edit. so smooth, such a relaxed vibe to it.

Some more amazing skiing...this video is from Junction 133 aka Duncan Lake, filmed at Mammoth Mtn., CA. These guys are so talented....is it winter yet?!

now this is impressive!

speaking of snow sports, EPIC snowboard movie trailer

So this is from the movie, That's It That's All. Travis Rice is the guy behind this one, and it's just amazing to watch. As you can tell, some serious $$$ went into this movie. This came out last year, but in case you missed the boat, check it out...

Level 1 Productions - Turbo Movie intro

Do you ski? Do you like to ski? Do you like to watch skiing?

Wacky songs that hopefully will brighten your day.

So these are some random songs I have, and they're all interesting in their own way...most are super poppy and catchy...something different. They're goofy or strange, but I have to admit they make me laugh. Have a listen.

Rasterize Program online, for making posters

Rasterizing basically takes a picture, and blows it up really big and allows your to print it out from your computer and then you tape the pages together to create a giant imagine. Pretty nifty if you want to make a big poster without paying big bucks to do so.

(the attached picture is an example, be advised this used a LOT of ink)

Need a new computer/blackberry/iphone background?

This website is great. It's a huge collection of HD computer wallpaper in multiple sizes, and you can also download sizes that work with your blackberry or iphone.

fan of metal/heavy music?

If so, here's some songs that I've been listening to at the gym lately. They'll definitely get the blood flowing.

Snowboarding on leaves in the woods commercial

Came across this recently, it's a cool commercial and then they show you how they did it in the second video. If you snowboard or ski, check it out...or even if you just like cool editing and cinematography.

Are you a fan of acoustic guitar music?

2 videos I've come across on youtube featuring absolutely incredible guitar playing. Very calming to listen to. The first is John Butler - Ocean, and the second is kind of similar sounding, it's by some high school student who's beyond talented. Enjoy~

Roy Jones Jr. Highlight Reel

This is just ridiculous....so impressive. RJJ makes these guys look like amateurs, I love this video. I'm not encouraging fighting, but this video will definitely get you pumped up to do whatever it is you do. (if you're curious, the song in the video is Body Head Bangers - can't be touched)

Vinyl wall stickers for interior decorating - very cool

Check this site out, it's a UK based store that sells cool vinyl decals you can put on the walls, cabinets, mirrors, appliances, etc. to decorate and add something new to your place. They've got some cool stuff, and some clever/funny stickers as well.

Muscle & Fitness Ab Article

This is a simple, but helpful article about getting some tone in your midsection. As they state in it, most people think that just doing tons of sit-ups and crunches will get the job done but there's a bit more to it. It's a quick read, some good basic info to be aware of if you're goal is to get some toned abs though.

http://www.muscleandfitness.com/ab_six_pack_ripped/training/247

***Also, as an added note...if you're into lifting and working out, Muscle&Fitness magazine is a great magazine to look into. Most fitness magazines are just a ton of supplement ads and random BS, but M&F does a good job of putting in new routine ideas and other helpful information.

New Music - Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Ok here's some new stuff that I've come across that I think everybody will enjoy...
*Also, all these links contain preview and download options. The limelinx ones haven't been previewing songs lately, but just take my word for it and download those anyway, you'll be happy you did!

50 Cent & Ne-yo - Baby by me remix

Tim Benson - Ride with me (remix of the old Nelly Song, kinda cool)

Yung Berg - baby i'm back feat. Rhianna (loveee this song, def DL it)

Akon - until you come back (real mellow r&b song)

Chris Brown - Can't let you go feat. Pleasure P and Bow Wow (r&b style, i like this one a lot as well)

hope everybody is having a nice weekend, cheers.

alright so the point of this blog is to show my friends the links to the music stuff I find, because more than one person has asked me for new tunes. Any other random funny or fun things I come across will also show up here. enjoy...

Gotta get the hang of this before I start posting up music links and other things worth checking out.
